Multicenter trial compares ultrasonic elastography-guided pleural biopsy with traditional methods, indicating the clinical value of accurate techniques.
Extract We sincerely thank F. Li and L. Zhang for their thoughtful and constructive commentary on our multicentre trial comparing ultrasonic elastography-guided pleural biopsy (UEPB) with traditional thoracic ultrasound-guided pleural biopsy (TUSPB) [1]. We appreciate their acknowledgement of the importance of this head-to-head comparison and their emphasis on the clinical value of an accurate and safe pleural biopsy strategy. Engaging with their detailed methodological and reporting comments has undoubtedly strengthened the interpretation and presentation of our findings. Below, we address each of the issues raised to provide further clarification.
