A ruthenium complex demonstrates high-efficiency synthesis of β-carbolines, indicating effective catalytic performance.
A ruthenium complex [RuCl(p-cymene)(bpy@CTF)]Cl was designed and synthesized by the immobilization of [RuCl2(p-cymeme)]2 on a covalent triazine framework (CTF). In the presence of catalyst (1 mol % Ru), a series of β-carbolines were synthesized in high yields with complete chemoselectivity via acceptorless dehydrogenation of tetrahydro-β-carbolines. More importantly, the synthesized catalyst could be recycled without obvious loss of catalytic activity over six cycles.
