All work was carried out in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 . Health and Safety considerations were of paramount importance in conducting all fieldwork. Safe working practices always overrode archaeological considerations. The client was responsible for securing the information on any services within the ground disturbance areas, whilst the ground contractor took all reasonable precautions to avoid damage to such services. A timetable for the programme was drawn up with contingency plans in place to address potential delays such as poor weather or unexpected discoveries. All ground disturbance was undertaken under constant archaeological supervision, with archaeological recording procedures consistent with those set out in the approved WSI: WB/PDW/25 This report presents the findings of an Archaeological Watching Brief carried out to mitigate the potential impact of groundworks associated with the installation of a 500 m section of pipeline on behalf of Dur Cymru Welsh Water. The works were part of Permitted Development. The proposed pipeline route crosses agricultural fields with known archaeological potential, in particular, their postulated association with an English Civil War battle of 1648, based on previous investigations in the area. The watching brief monitored the soil stripping within the trench construction corridor and immediately followed the metal detector survey of the same area, also part of the same mitigation condition. The outcome supports the findings of the earlier survey, namely that the site was likely to have been an area that saw English Civil War activity. Mae'r adroddiad hwn yn cyflwyno canfyddiadau Gwylio Archaeolegol a gynhaliwyd i liniaru effaith bosibl gwaith daear sy'n gysylltiedig â gosod darn 500 m o biblinell ar ran Dur Cymru Welsh Water. Cynhaliwyd y gwaith fel Datblygiad a Ganiateir. Mae llwybr arfaethedig y biblinell yn croesi caeau amaethyddol sydd â photensial archaeolegol hysbys, yn enwedig o ran eu cysylltiad tybiedig â gweithgarwch Rhyfel Cartref Lloegr yn 1648, yn seiliedig ar ymchwiliadau blaenorol yn yr ardal. Mae'r canlyniadau yn ategu canfyddiadau'r arolwg cynharach, sef bod y safle'n debygol o fod yn ardal a welodd weithgarwch yn ystod Rhyfel Cartref Lloegr.
