Abstract

The genomic results presented here substantiate a taxonomic revision of several of the species and varieties of both Psorodendron Rydb. and Psorothamnus Rydb. Both genera diversified since the Miocene in the deserts and intermountain basins of southwestern North America suggesting their antiquity and persistence in these regions.
