Confirms the validity of standard concrete compositions for shielding calculations of Japanese concrete, suggesting a new academic standard.
U.S. standard concrrete composition data such as ANL-5800 are often used for shielding calculations. However, Basis of these data and their consistency with Japanese concrete are unclear. Therefore, Japanese version of the standard composition data that can be used for shielding calculations is expected. The composition of aggregate varies depending on the region where manufactured, therefore, the number of compositions was simplified to eliminate regionality. Additionally, Water content contained varies depending on the concrete thickness, therefore, a moisture correction formula and a density correction formula were also prepared. In order to confirm the difference of dose rate out-side of the concrete shield for the standard composition and the actual concrete, sensitivity analysis with composition variation was carried out and confirm the validity of the standard composition. This standard composition data of concrete will be published as an new academic standard of the Atomic Energy Society of Japan (AESJ) .
