Examines combustion efficiency of multi-injection methods with different timings and orders.
In recent years, environmental pollution and fossil fuel depletion caused by exhaust gases from internal combustion engines have become increasingly serious problems. It has been found that the use of the Direct injection (DI) systems results in increased heat loss and thus reduced thermal efficiency. As a solution to this problem, the Impinging Injection system has been attracting attention. the Impinging Injection system is an injection method in which two injectors are installed coaxially opposite each other to achieve the effect of fuel atomization through the collision of liquid fuel atomization. In this study, we examined the impact of a liquid fuel injection system using hexadecane on combustion characteristics by comparing two types of multi-injection and impinging injection with different injection orders and timings of each injector in the combustion chamber.
