Evaluates thermal and detonation properties of isomeric biocidal compounds, indicating their potential applications.
Isomerization is an attractive strategy to manipulate the properties of compounds by keeping the same molecular formula. Herein, we present the preparation of five bis(nitro-iodopyrazole)methanes isomers ( 4-8 ) with high iodine content of 68.44%. They show good thermal stability (T d = 283-374°C), mechanical sensitivity (IS = 60 J, FS = 144-160 N) as well as low hygroscopic property. In addition, compounds 4-8 exhibit proper detonation properties ( D : 4398-4833 m s -1 , P : 13.0-17.5 GPa) as energetic biocidal compounds, the relationship between their properties and structures is systemically analyzed and discussed.
