Correction identifies a numerical inconsistency in maximum mass calculations, impacting related studies.
P34 v1.1 reported M_max = 4.26 M☉ for the exponential gravitational coupling G_eff(ρ) = G_N exp(-ρ/ρ_c) with ρ_c = 7.4 ρ_nuc using APR4 equation of state. Independent verification on April 25, 2026 using parameter sweep across six ρ_c values and multi-implementation cross-check (Replit + local) yields M_max = 4.56 ± 0.03 M☉, a 7.0% correction. The discrepancy originates from insufficient density resolution in P34 v1.1 (~30 points vs 150) and undocumented numerical parameters. Result is reproducible, physically consistent, and in agreement with NICER observations (R = 10.64 km vs NICER 10.3 ± 1.0 km). All papers dependent on M_max (P35, P36, P40, P41, P42) require updates to reflect corrected boundary. This correction is issued to prevent propagation of incorrect values to downstream research.
