Demonstrates knowledge formation techniques in preschool children, indicating implications for early education.
The area of key interest of this paper is the exact modality of network-type knowledge formation and expansion of young children aged from 4 to 6.To identify deeper characters of it, we analyzed the techniques with which pre-school children at kindergartens associate keywords and concepts they picked up from read stories of picture books. The result showed that the children predominantly hired verbs and syntagmatic association technique along with animistic anthropomorphism, as well as varied forms of adjectives, for paradigmatic-like association technique when developing a knowledge network.Additionally, it was also demonstrated that six-yearolds recalled significantly more keywords than younger children when it came to syntagmatic association.Lastly, this paper implies some of the future plans from the findings that are to be applied to more effective selections of picture books in early education for their language development.
