Evaluates stress distribution in hybrid assemblies, highlighting WAAM's design flexibility.
Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing (WAAM) enables production of complex geometries that are challenging to achieve with conventional techniques, creating new possibilities for improving structural efficiency and design flexibility. Combined with conventional steel, WAAM can be used to create hybrid structural assemblies that integrate the advantages of both manufacturing approaches. Finite element analysis (FEA) was conducted to evaluate influence of geometric variations on stress distribution within the hybrid assemblies. WAAM demonstrates significant potential for advancing structural connection design and offers a viable pathway for integration into modern structural engineering practice.
