Digitalization preserves historical lower limb anatomy content for contemporary education, enhancing learning.
DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.19977300 Anatomy of the Lower Limb – Lecture Notes for Students (1992) /Anatomia kończyny dolnej – konspekt dla studentów (1992)/ Jacek Lorkowski SummaryThis study represents a bilingual digitalization of original lecture notes on the macroscopic anatomy of the lower limb (anatomia extremitatis inferioris) from 1992. It was prepared by the author using Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technology, which allowed for the preservation of the original form of the teaching material. Digitalization via OCR was not only a technical challenge for the author but, above all, a way to maintain the continuity of materials collected three decades ago. The main goal of this edition was to preserve the substantive value of the original materials while adapting them to contemporary scientific standards. The content of the document includes a detailed presentation of the structure of the lumbar plexus (plexus lumbalis) and sacral plexus (plexus sacralis), the topography of blood vessels (arteries and veins), a description of the muscle groups of the thigh, leg, and foot, and the localization of lymph nodes. Particular attention was paid to topographical spaces, such as lacunae, canals, and fossae /including the popliteal fossa/. The entire anatomical nomenclature has been verified and updated according to the current international classification, Terminologia Anatomica. The text has been enriched with selected, significant clinical correlations. Keywords: anatomy of the lower limb, lumbar plexus, sacral plexus, vascularization of the lower limb, anatomical nomenclature, myology, anatomical topography. StreszczenieNiniejsze opracowanie stanowi polsko - i łacińskojęzyczną digitalizację autorskiego konspektu z zakresu anatomii kończyny dolnej (anatomia extremitatis inferioris) z 1992 roku. Treść dokumentu obejmuje szczegółowe ujęcie budowy splotu lędźwiowego (plexus lumbalis) i krzyżowego (plexus sacralis), topografię naczyń krwionośnych (tętnic i żył), opis grup mięśniowych uda, podudzia i stopy oraz lokalizację węzłów chłonnych. Szczególną uwagę poświęcono przestrzeniom topograficznym, takim jak rozstępy, kanały oraz doły (m.in. dół podkolanowy). Całość mianownictwa anatomicznego została zweryfikowana i uaktualniona zgodnie z obowiązującą międzynarodową klasyfikacją Terminologia Anatomica. Tekst wzbogacono o wybrane, istotne korelacje kliniczne. Słowa kluczowe: anatomia kończyny dolnej, splot lędźwiowy, splot krzyżowy, unaczynienie kończyny dolnej, mianownictwo anatomiczne, miologia, topografia anatomiczna.
