It was personally prepared by the author using Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technology, which allowed for the preservation of the original form of the instructional material. For the author, OCR digitization was not only a technical challenge but, above all, a way to maintain the continuity of materials collected three decades ago. The primary goal of this edition was to preserve the substantive value of the original materials while adapting them to modern scientific standards. The content of the document includes a detailed macro-anatomical description of the thoracic organs, including the heart, lungs, esophagus, and the structures of the superior and inferior mediastinum. Particular attention was paid to topographical anatomy, vascularization, and innervation of the thorax. All anatomical nomenclature has been verified and updated in accordance with the current international classification, Terminologia Anatomica. The text is enriched with selected, significant clinical correlations and embryological notes. Keywords: thoracic anatomy, heart, lungs, mediastinum, anatomical nomenclature, medical education. Streszczenie Niniejsze opracowanie stanowi polsko- i angielskojęzyczną digitalizację autorskiego konspektu z zakresu anatomii klatki piersiowej z 1994 roku. Zostało ono przygotowane osobiście przez autora z wykorzystaniem technologii optycznego rozpoznawania znaków (OCR), co pozwoliło na ocalenie pierwotnej formy materiału dydaktycznego. Digitalizacja metodą OCR była dla autora nie tylko wyzwaniem technicznym, ale przede wszystkim sposobem na podtrzymanie ciągłości materiałów zebranych przed trzema dekadami. Głównym celem niniejszej edycji było zachowanie wartości merytorycznej oryginalnych materiałów przy jednoczesnym dostosowaniu ich do współczesnych standardów naukowych. Treść dokumentu obejmuje szczegółowe ujęcie budowy makroskopowej narządów klatki piersiowej, w tym serca, płuc,przełyku oraz struktur śródpiersia górnego i dolnego. Szczególną uwagę poświęcono anatomii topograficznej, unaczynieniu oraz unerwieniu klatki piersiowej. Całość mianownictwa anatomicznego została zweryfikowana I uaktualniona zgodnie z obowiązującą międzynarodową klasyfikacją Terminologia Anatomica. Tekst wzbogacono o wybrane, istotne korelacje kliniczne oraz uwagi embriologiczne. Słowa kluczowe: anatomia klatki piersiowej, serce, płuca, śródpiersie, mianownictwo anatomiczne, dydaktyka medyczna.
