Abstract This paper explores the issue of bumpless transfer control for a class of discrete‐time switched linear systems with an event‐triggered mechanism. The goal of the study is to mitigate control bumps resulting from switching and event‐triggered control, while guaranteeing the asymptotic stability of the system under consideration. This objective is achieved through the co‐design of the switching logic, event‐triggered mechanism, and event‐driven controllers. Initially, a novel performance explanation of bumpless transfer control is presented. Then, sufficient conditions for asymptotic stability and bumpless transfer behavior of the closed‐loop system are established by constructing multiple Lyapunov functions. To conclude, the effectiveness of the suggested method is validated through a numerical example.
