The article examines the model of the linguistic personality of a commentator-analyst specializing in the genre of sports commentary on modern digital communication platforms (television and the internet). As an example of such analysis, the linguistic personality of D. Guberniev is analyzed. The study analyzes three structural components of the linguistic personality model – verbal-semantic, cognitive, and pragmatic. It also considers the communicative types of the linguistic personality of a sports commentator, related to the specifics of sports discourse, which include general characteristics of modern sports media text; features of the genre of sports commentary (reporting) and its individual-authorial traits; the commentator's belonging to a specific type based on their communicative strategy in delivering commentary and the predominance of either the expressive or informative component of communication in their linguistic personality; and the individual-stylistic features of the author's speech manner. In the theoretical part of the work, general scientific methods of analysis, synthesis, induction, deduction, as well as systemic analysis, generalization, typological, and descriptive methods were applied. In the practical part of the study, the methods of discourse analysis, linguistic and intertextual analysis, as well as the descriptive-comparative method were used. The scientific novelty of the research is associated with the analysis of the levels of the linguistic personality model of a person from the sports media sphere. The study established that the verbal-semantic level of D. Guberniev's linguistic personality is characterized by brightness and emotionality due to the use of vocabulary and phraseology from various stylistic layers (tropes, professional vocabulary, sports slang, and his own occasional units). The cognitive level is characterized by erudition and a tendency for self-education, humor, and the ability to improvise, patriotism, and adherence to traditional values. The analysis of the pragmatic level shows that D. Guberniev's primary motivation in his profession is related to self-realization and leadership. The extraordinary linguistic personality of the commentator makes him a prominent figure in sports journalism and a communicative leader endowed with professional skills and the ability to emotionally engage a wide audience in sports events.
