May warrant CHD evaluation before panic diagnosis in younger adults; leaves open causality versus misclassification.
Does a diagnosis of panic attacks/disorder increase the risk of coronary heart disease, acute myocardial infarction, and CHD-related mortality in adults?
New onset panic attacks/disorder are associated with an increased hazard of subsequent CHD and MI diagnosis in younger people (<50 years), which may reflect underlying risk or initial misdiagnosis.
