Demonstrates sustainable production of biolubricant and sodium soap from natural oils, indicating eco-friendly alternatives.
The adverse environmental impact and non-biodegradability of petroleum-based lubricants and surfactants have driven significant research toward sustainable and eco-friendly alternatives. In this study, a green synthesis approach was employed for the production of biolubricant and sodium soap from renewable natural oils. Biolubricants were synthesized via esterification/transesterification reactions, enhancing key physicochemical properties such as viscosity, thermal stability, and biodegradability. Sodium soaps were produced through alkaline saponification of triglycerides using sodium hydroxide, yielding glycerol as a valuable by-product
