Demonstrates a sustainable method for synthesizing pharmaceutical compounds, indicating significant ecological benefits.
2‐(Arylamino)nicotinic acids are significant in synthetic chemistry, particularly due to their applications in the pharmaceutical industry. An environmentally sustainable methodology has been developed for synthesizing these compounds, employing concentrated solar radiation (CSR) as a renewable energy source under catalyst‐ and solvent‐free conditions. This approach facilitates the rapid and selective synthesis of these biologically important compounds, achieving yields of up to 94% under mild conditions. Moreover, this method's synthetic applicability is demonstrated through synthesizing pharmaceutical compounds such as flunixin and clonixin on a gram scale. This eco‐friendly approach offers a promising alternative to traditional synthesis techniques and emphasizes the potential of CSR in promoting sustainable chemical processes.
