Key result
Post-CABG aspirin 75 mg is linked to ~12-fold higher AA-induced platelet aggregation versus 150 mg.
Why the study?
Does aspirin 150 mg daily compared to 75 mg daily improve early postoperative platelet inhibition in patients undergoing CABG?
Observational (n=40)
No
Does aspirin 150 mg daily compared to 75 mg daily improve early postoperative platelet inhibition in patients undergoing CABG?
Absolute Event Rate: 37% vs 3%
p-value: p=0.02
Early postoperative aspirin at 150 mg daily provides more consistent and potent platelet inhibition compared to 75 mg daily following CABG, highlighting significant interindividual variability with low-dose aspirin.
Should not prompt aspirin dose changes post-CABG; leaves open whether 150 mg improves outcomes versus 75 mg.

Kędziora et al. (2026) conducted an observational in Chronic coronary syndrome undergoing CABG (n=40). Aspirin vs. Aspirin 150 mg daily was evaluated on Arachidonic acid (AA)-induced platelet aggregation on postoperative days 5-7 (p=0.02). In patients undergoing CABG, postoperative aspirin at 75 mg daily resulted in significantly higher median AA-induced platelet aggregation compared to 150 mg daily (37% vs. 3%, p=0.02) on days 5-7.
