Shows optimized control torque improves performance in hypersonic flight vehicles, indicating better handling under faults.
This paper proposes a fault-tolerant control scheme for the attitude tracking of reentry hypersonic flight vehicles (HFVs) subject to intermittent faults and actuator constraints. Due to the fluctuating detection delays induced by the stochastic nature of intermittent faults, a residual-threshold-based decision logic is established to enable timely fault diagnosis, which subsequently updates the fault-tolerant controller. By utilizing a robust quadratic programming method to optimize the desired control torque calculated by the reconfigurable control law, aerodynamic surfaces are coordinated to achieve optimal deflections within actuator limits. To compensate for insufficient control torque produced by aerodynamic surfaces due to low dynamic pressure in the reentry phase of HFVs, a reaction control system employs a fuzzy logic switching strategy enhanced by Grey Wolf Optimization (GWO). Simulation results confirm that the proposed approach ensures closed-loop stability and fault-tolerant performance for reentry HFVs under intermittent faults.
