Monitoring reveals limited understanding of subsurface deposits in Bristol, indicating potential archaeological significance.
Allen Archaeology Limited was commissioned by Nord Bristol Joint Venture to undertake a programme of archaeological monitoring and recording as part of the pre-application surveys for a borehole and geotechnical survey at 100 Temple Street, Redcliff in Bristol. The aim was to better understand the depths and nature of material beneath the current car park. The monitoring of the boreholes allowed some understanding of the depth of deposits across the site, but the very limited scope of the investigations limits the ability to accurately interpret the deposits, or to recover dating evidence
