This study employs a systematic literature review methodology to examine the integration of ChatGPT into human resource management (HRM). By synthesizing 115 articles, the paper maps the current research landscape of ChatGPT in HRM, revealing a flourishing trend in multidisciplinary journals and the adoption of diverse methodologies and theoretical foundations. A thematic analysis is conducted to develop a comprehensive research framework based on the ''Input-Process-Output'' (IPO) paradigm. Specifically, the study investigates the driving and hindering factors for ChatGPT adoption through the lens of the Technology-Organization-Environment (TOE) framework, analyzes the processes of ChatGPT integration across five critical HRM functions—human resource planning, recruitment and selection, training and development, compensation management, and performance management—and evaluates the outcomes of its implementation at both individual and organizational levels. Finally, the paper proposes a future research agenda that emphasizes methodological innovations, theoretical advancements, and deeper explorations of the inputs, processes, and outputs of ChatGPT integration, while highlighting the significance of cross-cultural contexts.
