Recent trends in the Korean PCI registry indicate that patients undergoing PCI are increasingly older and present with a higher burden of comorbidities.
Background: This study presents updated information on percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) practices and in-hospital outcomes from the 2018 cohort of the Korean Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (K-PCI) registry, compared with data from the 2014 and 2016 cohorts. Methods: This study included the 2018 cohort of the K-PCI registry (n = 46,542), with 90 participating centers, alongside the 2014 (n = 44,967) and 2016 (n = 48,824) cohorts.Demographic, procedural, and in-hospital PCI outcome data were captured via a web-based reporting system. Results: The mean participant age was 65.8 11.6 years, and 71.7% of patients were male.Compared with the 2014 and 2016 cohorts, the 2018 patients tended to be older and had higher rates of comorbidities-including diabetes mellitus, dyslipidemia, prior myocardial infarction, and chronic kidney disease-and exhibited a higher incidence of cardiogenic

Ahn et al. (2025) conducted a cohort in Percutaneous coronary intervention (n=140,333). Percutaneous coronary intervention (2018 cohort) vs. Percutaneous coronary intervention (2014 and 2016 cohorts) was evaluated on In-hospital outcomes. Patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention in the 2018 Korean registry cohort were older (mean age 65.8 years) and had higher rates of comorbidities compared to the 2014 and 2016 cohorts.
