Exact surface impedance for a spherical conductor

Abstract

A spherically concentric model of the earth is employed to obtain expressions for the surface impedance matrix at the surface. It is shown the surface impedance is a function of both the earth's electrical parameter and the source field configuration. In some cases the latter dependence is of minor consequence.
