This study developed a tabletop role-playing game (TRPG), "FLIP," for AI ethics education by engaging players in the ethical reasoning surrounding "Killer Robots."Designed as a dialogic space, the game encourages players to explore diverse moral perspectives through cognitive dissonance.Specific game mechanics, such as ethical dilemmas and role conflicts, were incorporated to provoke cognitive dissonance and deepen ethical reasoning.Fifteen undergraduate students participated in the gameplay, and their in-game discourse was analyzed to unpack ethical reasoning. The analysis of their dialogues showed that the game effectively engaged players in understanding the complexity of AI ethics issues by sharing and challenging ethical judgments and arguments through collective reasoning.Overall, this study highlights the potential of TRPGs as a promising approach to AI ethics education.
