Isolated CABG linked to similar long-term survival as combined CABG and mitral surgery for mild-to-moderate IMI.
Why the study?
The study aimed to evaluate long-term outcomes of surgical treatment in patients with coronary artery disease complicated by ischemic mitral insufficiency depending on its severity and surgical scope.
Does combined CABG and mitral valve intervention improve long-term survival compared to isolated CABG in patients with coronary artery disease and ischemic mitral insufficiency?
Cohort (n=119)
Does combined CABG and mitral valve intervention improve long-term survival compared to isolated CABG in patients with coronary artery disease and ischemic mitral insufficiency?
Absolute Event Rate: 95.7% vs 96.7%
p-value: p=>0.05
Isolated CABG in patients with mild-to-moderate ischemic mitral insufficiency yields similar long-term survival and adverse event rates compared to combined CABG and mitral valve surgery for moderate-to-severe insufficiency.

Жбанов et al. (2022) conducted a cohort in Coronary artery disease and ischemic mitral insufficiency (n=119). Isolated CABG vs. Combined CABG and mitral valve intervention was evaluated on Long-term survival (p=>0.05). Isolated CABG for mild-to-moderate ischemic mitral insufficiency resulted in similar long-term survival compared to combined CABG and mitral valve surgery (95.7% vs 96.7%, p>0.05).
