Archaeological monitoring and recording was undertaken in association with an extension to Abby House, Mitford, Northumberland. The area under investigation lies partly within the Scheduled Monument of Newminster Abby (List Entry Number: 1006563) which is a Grade II Listed building (List Entry Number: 1155952). A strip foundation trench was excavated by a machine excavator fitted with a 1m wide toothless ditching bucket. No features or deposits of archaeological interest were encountered.
