This review provides insights into modeling field evaporation, integrating atomic dynamics with macroscopic behavior.
Field evaporation is a fundamental phenomenon that enables atomic‐scale characterization and manipulation of materials. In recent decades, numerical simulation has played a crucial role in the development of these technologies by providing unique insights into the underlying mechanisms of field evaporation. This review presents a systematic overview of computational methodologies developed to model the multiscale physics of the field evaporation process, including continuum modeling for macroscopic field distribution and morphology evolution, molecular dynamics for atomistic kinetics, and first‐principles calculations for electronic‐level behaviors. While typically applied at specific scales with respective approximations, such simulations contribute to a coherent picture that bridges processes and mechanisms across multiple scales and aids in the interpretation of experimental data. We emphasize that multiscale integration is a pivotal strategy for achieving predictive simulations.
