An Evenson-type tunable far-infrared spectrometer has been built to measure rotational transition frequencies of LiH up to 5 THz. R( J ) transitions with J =0 to 10 ( v =0) and J =1 to 10 ( v =1) of 7 LiH, and those with J =1 to 9 ( v =0) of 6 LiH have been measured. Frequency measurements with an accuracy of tens of kHz enable us to improve rotational parameters of LiH.
