Meta-analysis reveals significant survival impact of sarcopenia in metastatic breast cancer patients, suggesting better care strategies are needed.
Conclusions: Nearly half of patients with HR+/HER2-MBC had sarcopenia at the time of metastatic diagnosis, with a clinically relevant 12 months reduction in OS.Our findings underscore the need for increased awareness of sarcopenia in routine oncological care.Whether early identification of sarcopenia combined with nutritional counseling and physical activity interventions can improve patient outcomes remains to be determined.
