Abstract On two previous occasions an account has been given of the surface arteries of the brain and of the circulation of the cerebral cortex. In this communication it is our intention to describe the internal circulation of the cerebral hemispheres and the anatomy of the surface veins and venous sinuses. Also, we hope to link up our previous papers with this one and to discuss and illustrate the phenomena that we believe are of special surgical importance and particularly those that influence surgical techniques.
