Field monitoring of long-span bridges under typhoons is essential for safety assurance and wind-resistant design; however, their nonlinear and nonstationary dynamic characteristics remain insufficiently understood. This study employs recurrence quantification analysis (RQA) to characterize the wind and structural vibration of a long-span suspension bridge during Typhoon Bebinca. Based on multiinterval comparison, an optimal 2-min analysis window is identified, effectively balancing dynamic resolution and computational efficiency. The RQA reveals phase-specific synchronization patterns between wind and structural response, showing distinct recurrence behaviors across prelandfall, landfall, and postlandfall stages. Joint recurrence analysis further quantifies the enhanced wind–structure coupling during the typhoon’s peak intensity. These findings demonstrate the capability of RQA to uncover nonlinear interaction mechanisms in bridge–typhoon systems, providing valuable insights for structural health monitoring and the design of wind-resilient infrastructures.
