Abstract When several widely available canned computer programs are used to perform a routine analysis of variance, the results are found to be either misleading or sometimes completely wrong. However one program, BMDX64 of U.C.L.A.'s Biomed Series, proves to be accurate, unambiguous, versatile, well documented, statistically attractive, efficient, and inexpensive.
