SU(3) ⊗ U(1) Gauge Theory of the Weak and Electromagnetic Interactions

This is the authors' abstract. We don't add key points for this paper.

We describe an extension of the gauge theory of weak and electromagnetic interactions to SU(3) {} U(1). The extended theory naturally insures universality, absence of right-handed currents in β and muon decay, flavor conservation in neutral currents, etc.; gives good quantitative agreement with observations of neutral currents; and accounts for recently observed trimuon events.
