A compact, low-cost device for multi-lead fetal heart rate measurement using fetal phonocardiography was developed to allow non-invasive monitoring without side effects.
A novel, low-cost, non-invasive device using fetal phonocardiography was developed to facilitate safe, long-term fetal heart rate monitoring.
Enables low-cost multi-lead fetal monitoring; leaves open clinical validation before practice adoption.
The long-term monitoring of the fetal heart rate (fHR) is important to control the fetal well-being. One of the promising methods for fetal monitoring is fetal phonocardiography which is based on recording fetal heart sounds. This paper presents a compact low-cost device for multi lead fHR measurement. The introduced device allows to monitor fHR non-invasively and with no side effects for the mother or fetus. Moreover, we developed LabVIEW application for the signal processing and analysis.
