After the examination of two competing frameworks for the study of organizational effectiveness, ageneral model of school effectiveness is proposed. This multidimensional perspective was operationalized and explored with data from a sample of secondary schools in a single state. The empirical analysis supported the framework, and suggestions for further refinements were made.
