Exploration identifies essential language skills for cross-border e-commerce professionals, suggesting educational reforms.
The rapid evolution of digital intelligence technologies has fundamentally transformed the landscape of cross-border e-commerce, creating unprecedented demands for specialized linguistic competencies among professionals in this field. This paper examines the core language capabilities required for cross-border e-commerce practitioners in the era of digital intelligence, analyzing how artificial intelligence, big data analytics, and automated translation systems have reshaped traditional language skill requirements. Through a comprehensive review of industry trends and educational frameworks, this study identifies five critical dimensions of linguistic competence: multimodal digital literacy, AI-human collaborative communication, data-driven linguistic decision-making, cross-cultural algorithmic mediation, and ethical language governance. The findings suggest that future-oriented e-commerce education must transcend conventional foreign language training to cultivate hybrid competencies that integrate technological proficiency with sophisticated intercultural communication skills. This research contributes to the theoretical understanding of digital language competencies and provides practical recommendations for curriculum development in higher education institutions.
