Latest advances in polymer reactions focus on conversions and degradation, highlighting new methods and designs.
Polymer reactions must be based on an elemental reaction with perfect quantitativity and selectivity as well as the robustness against the restrictions on reaction conditions due to the polymer solubility. Furthermore, the functional groups as reaction sites must not prevent the polymerization reaction. Under these restrictions, it is important to design monomers and polymerization reactions in order to implement polymer reactions. This article introduces the latest advances in polymer reactions from three perspectives: main chain conversion, side group conversion, and polymer degradation.
