CMR reveals septal bounce and pericardial calcium masked by severe TR on TTE.

Cardiac MRI may identify constriction masked by severe TR on echocardiography; hypothesis-generating for multimodality imaging.
Taaghi et al. (2025) conducted a case report in Severe Tricuspid Regurgitation and Constrictive Pericarditis. Cardiac MRI vs. Transthoracic Echocardiography (TTE) was evaluated. Cardiac MRI revealed evidence of septal bounce and scattered pericardial calcium deposits that were masked by severe tricuspid regurgitation on transthoracic echocardiography.
