Why the study?
Although heart rate variability and Ewing's battery are routinely used for autonomic neuropathy assessment, conflicting reports exist regarding their visit-to-visit repeatability.
Time-domain HRV and autonomic reactivity measures show good to excellent visit-to-visit repeatability, whereas frequency-domain metrics are only moderately repeatable and should not be solely relied upon for cardiac autonomic neuropathy assessment.

Time-domain HRV repeatability supports longitudinal autonomic monitoring; frequency-domain measures leave open their reliability for neuropathy assessment.
