Perfusion territories subtended by penetrating coronary arteries increase in size and decrease in number toward the subendocardium

The study provides a novel 3D quantitative analysis of coronary perfusion territories, showing that subendocardial territories are larger and fewer with higher vascular density compared to subepicardial territories, which may inform patient-specific computational models.
