Supports dual-demand pacing feasibility in WPW with intractable AVRT; leaves open need for controlled trials before clinical adoption.
Case Report (n=2)
Does a dual-demand pacemaker terminate reciprocating atrioventricular tachycardia in patients with Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome?
Dual-demand pacing is a promising and effective treatment for terminating intractable reciprocating atrioventricular tachycardia in selected patients with Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome.
Krikler et al. (1976) conducted a case report in Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome with reciprocating atrioventricular tachycardia (n=2). Dual-demand pacemaker was evaluated on Termination of tachycardia attacks. A modified dual-demand pacemaker successfully and consistently terminated attacks of intractable reciprocating atrioventricular tachycardia in two patients with Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome.
