Silicon nanowire films have been modified with boron and used as sensors to measure glucose in aqueous solution. These sensors have a wide linear range (0–10 mM glucose), high sensitivity (172 nA mmol –1 ), good reproducibility, and long‐term stability. Silicon nanowire films have also been modified with magnesium and shown to perform as sensors for detecting hydrogen peroxide in aqueous solution.
