Left ventricular hypertrophy was associated with a significant decrease in myocardial ADRB1 gene expression in patients with chronic heart failure.
Observational (n=78)
Myocardial ADRB1 gene expression is significantly decreased in heart failure patients with left ventricular hypertrophy and is associated with acetylsalicylic acid use, but not with beta-blocker or ACE inhibitor use.
LVH-linked ADRB1 downregulation in HF is hypothesis-generating; leaves open any role in therapy response or outcomes.
An analysis of the level of relative expression of the β1 adrenergic receptor ADRB1 gene in the myocardium of 78 patients with chronic heart failure against the background of the combined development of ischemic heart disease and arterial hypertension was carried out. A significant decrease in the level of ADRB1 gene expression was revealed in patients with left ventricular hypertrophy. In the considered cohort, the expression level of the ADRB1 gene did not depend on the functional class of heart failure. The ADRB1 relative expression was higher in patients taking acetylsalicylic acid preparations, but did not show a significant association with the use of β blockers or ACE inhibitors.

Муслимова et al. (2021) conducted an observational in Chronic heart failure with ischemic heart disease and arterial hypertension (n=78). Left ventricular hypertrophy vs. Absence of left ventricular hypertrophy was evaluated on Relative expression level of the β1 adrenergic receptor ADRB1 gene in the myocardium. Left ventricular hypertrophy was associated with a significant decrease in myocardial ADRB1 gene expression in patients with chronic heart failure.
