Randomized trial demonstrates enhanced virtual shopping experiences in consumers, suggesting improved sustainability practices.
Our proposed Augmented Reality (AR) solution for supermarkets aims to revolutionize the shopping experience in response to prevalent challenges encountered by traditional retail establishments. By harnessing AR Foundation architecture, we intend to address key issues such as limited space, ineffective waste management, and inadequate product information. Through the integration of Markerless AR technology, our application enables users to access a virtual grocery store directly from their smartphones. The virtual environment provided by our AR application offers a wealth of real-time information, including comprehensive product details, allergy notifications, and detailed nutritional information, empowering shoppers to make informed choices effortlessly. Our approach is anchored in the advancement of sustainability and inclusivity. By eliminating spatial constraints, reducing dead stock, and encouraging environmentally conscious consumer behavior, we leverage AR to promote ecological sustainability. Features such as real-time updates on product expiration dates and personalized recommendations enhance the overall shopping experience, contributing to the reduction of food waste. Moreover, our augmented reality supermarket application serves as a catalyst for innovation in the retail industry while addressing pressing concerns. Our goal is to inspire both consumers and retailers to embrace conscientious consumption through accessible, informative, and environmentally friendly shopping experiences
