Neutron Bragg scattering data taken at 140 and 293 K are used to compute the rotational potential of the NH4 molecule in (NH4)2SnCl6. In an expansion of the potential into rotator functions which are invariant under the direct product group of the site and the molecular point group only terms with 1≤6 are found to be necessary. The potential does not depend on the temperature.
