Palladium-catalyzed arylation and phenethylation generates diarylalkanes with good yields, suggesting a versatile method.
-mediated and palladium-catalyzed three-component arylation and phenethylation process of toluenes with aryl iodides and styrenes has been established. This reaction gives an efficient method for the synthesis of diarylalkanes with a broad substrate scope and good yields. The practical applicability of this reaction is shown by the scale-up reaction and further derivatization of the products.
