This article presents a comprehensive examination of yoga as an integrated science of human development — examining its philosophical foundations, physiological mechanisms, and evidence-based health outcomes across seven dimensions. The seven dimensions examined are: physical health (musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, and endocrine benefits documented in clinical research); neurological health (brain structure and function changes confirmed by neuroimaging); mental and emotional health (anxiety, depression, PTSD, and stress regulation); pranayamic regulation of the autonomic nervous system; meditative cultivation of metacognitive awareness; ethical and relational dimensions of the Yamas and Niyamas; and the philosophical dimension of Samadhi as the culmination of the eightfold path described in Patanjali's Yoga Sutras. The article examines the contemporary scientific confirmation of mechanisms that Patanjali described phenomenologically 2,000 years ago, presenting this convergence as independent verification rather than cultural promotion.
