Publishes a hieratic papyrus found in tomb O. 70, uncovering insights into late Egyptian divination practices.
Summary This paper aims to publish and study the hieratic papyrus that is stored in the Kom-Aushim magazine which was found with other papyri in the tomb (O. 70) by an Egyptian archaeological mission of the Supreme Council of Antiquities (SCA) in season 2009/2010. This papyrus is stored alongside other hieratic and demotic fragments between two glass plates, all bearing no. 254. It represents a type of omen interpretation and a divination text that presents interpretations of some type of phenomenon. According to the palaeography, the layout, and the grammatical issues, the papyrus would seem to that this papyrus may be dated to the 26 th dynasty. The interest of the text is that there are only a few hieratic documents that appeared from Illahun dating to the late period which help to track the history of cursive writings in the Illahun community.
