We report a radical cascade acylation/cyclization of bicyclobutyl N-aryl amides with 4-acyl-1,4-dihydropyridines under visible-light irradiation. This transformation tolerates a broad range of functional groups and offers an alternative, environmentally benign approach to the synthesis of acyl-containing spirocyclic oxindoles.
