Qualitative study collects experiences from counselors integrating Catholic Christian perspectives, suggesting future research directions.
In addition to the numerous studies that have explored the integration of a client's spirituality into the process of psychotherapy and counseling, researchers might also focus on the integration of a student's spirituality into the process of counseling education. This study was conducted to understand the lived experiences of Divine Mercy University (DMU) School of Counseling (SOC) alumni students who integrate psychology and counseling with a Catholic Christian view of the human person, marriage, and the family in their work as professional counselors. This qualitative study was conducted through survey questionnaires from 16 practicing professional counselors who have graduated from DMU and have been employed as professional counselors for at least one year. The implications of the study for the field of counseling and suggestions for future research are provided.
